Yet Another EggsBen

I have recently taken fancy over Eggs Benedict, and has been trying different versions since.

The most recent I've tried is from Museum Cafe.

It looked prettier than it tasted actually. It had salmon and grilled cherry tomatoes; I think it's really good in theory. I couldn't quite put my finger on what I didn't like about it, could be the bread or the eggs themselves. It wasn't too bad, just not the kind I'd go back for.

My New Favorite - Faburrito!

I love love love Mexican food! So, you can imagine my glee when I discovered another mexican place, this time at Faburrito at The Columns :)

I ordered a chicken burrito bowl with mango salsa (Php 180). At first I thought it was huge, but of course I was able to finish it up :)

I paired it up with my veggie chips which was equally yummy too :) The veggie chips is bundled up with a mint brewed tea which together cost me additional Php 75. Not bad, not bad at all :)

I'll definitely be back for more :)

Frozen

I love how Disney had reinvented itself in the movies. How the damsel is not in distress, how you don't marry a man you just met and how an act of love can come from you, and not necessarily from a true love's kiss.

Frozen made me cry, but all in a good way; please catch it if you can :)

Apartment 1B: As How Breakfasts Should Be

One morning, I just stood up from my desk and I decided I want to have a nice, hearty breakfast.

And that's easily the best decision I made that day.

I head over to Apartment 1B, sat down, and had the best breakfast I've had for a while. I ordered Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon (Php 460), along with a glass of fresh Calamansi Juice (Php 90).

My Eggs Benedict came with a simple side salad. Simple as it may be, I loved it nonetheless as the greens were fresh and crunchy and it threw additional flavor to my dish. The potatoes were nicely cooked and cut in huge chunks, just the way I like it.

But the eggs. Wow. I have learned that poached eggs are not as simple as it seems and so many restaurants just don't do it right. But the one on my plate that morning was simply divine. I cut through it and my egg yolk oozed with liquid perfection. Just the mere memory of it makes me want to cry. The hollandaise sauce was not too overpowering and the salmon was equally delectable.

These are the times I remember why I love food, and yes, I think I'll stay in love for a long, long time <3

Ice Cream Time at Svenson's!

It was first time at Svenson's yesterday, and I'm only too glad to have finally tried it :) I love ice cream because who in the world doesn't? I ordered their American Tower at Php140, with green tea and vanilla scoops.

While the vanilla ice cream wasn't bad, I would have ordered for 2 scoops of green tea ice cream and will do so if ever I'll eat there again :)

GK Tabora

I went to the GK site in Tabora In Tandang Sora QC earlier today. It was not a build, but a recreational activity for the existing community's kids. It was quite tiring, but very fulfilling :)

I'm amazed at how GK is transforming the Philippines one community at a time :) It's now easier to dream and imagine our country without poverty, and where the people live with dignity. We can all dream, right?
