Sunrise at Angkor Wat

It has been in my dreams to catch the sun rise over at Angkor Wat. And it's as magical as I thought it could be, and I can only thank God for letting ne experience this.

The temple complex lays off a mystical silhoutte as the sun slowly gets up from its night-long slumber. It was magical.

And probably the sun was delighted to see us first thing in the morning, it decided to shine on us so brightly the rest of the day.

It was so humbling to walk around temples built and designed from way back. It somehow connects us to the old world, and is simply amazing; I am blessed.

Small Surprises, Simple Joys

My plant at the office grew a new branch over the long weekend, and I'm surprisingly delighted about it :)

The cute little branch is just too precious and seems to give out hope just by being its cute self!

The PICC

I went to the Philippine International Convention Center, or the PICC, for the second time over the weekend. It was night the first time I was there, and I was only able to appreciate it in its beauty and grandiosity just then.

Yes, you'd know it's old but it was so beautiful; the light fixtures, the architecture, the art installations, the stairs. A lot was said and can still be said about Imelda Marcos, but she was still a champion of beauty and the arts when her family was in power.

Pictures don't do it justice, you have to go there and see its beauty for yourself.

Hai Chix & Steak: New Resto to Usher in the New Year

It has been a crazy holiday season, as always, and it has only been about a week ago when things started to go back to normal. I needed yet few more days to go back to writing :)

I remember this restaurant to be the first restaurant I ate in for the new year. I was craving for Hainanese Chicken, and remembered this at The Jazz.

Hai Chix & Steaks is a quaint, little restaurant at The Jazz here in Makati. It serves Hainanese Chicken, and I read somewhere their steaks are pretty mean too :)

I originally wanted to Hainanese Chicken, but I changed my mind when I saw in the menu that they have steamed fish (Php200 + service charge). New year, healthy living much?

And wow, presentation was lovely :) The fish was delicious too, especially when dipped with the chili sauce it came with. I ordered extra for some ginger (Php10) as I felt some remnants of my Hainanese chicken craving.

I paid a little over Php200 for a lovely meal, and I decided I'd go back for more :)

Yet Another EggsBen

I have recently taken fancy over Eggs Benedict, and has been trying different versions since.

The most recent I've tried is from Museum Cafe.

It looked prettier than it tasted actually. It had salmon and grilled cherry tomatoes; I think it's really good in theory. I couldn't quite put my finger on what I didn't like about it, could be the bread or the eggs themselves. It wasn't too bad, just not the kind I'd go back for.

My New Favorite - Faburrito!

I love love love Mexican food! So, you can imagine my glee when I discovered another mexican place, this time at Faburrito at The Columns :)

I ordered a chicken burrito bowl with mango salsa (Php 180). At first I thought it was huge, but of course I was able to finish it up :)

I paired it up with my veggie chips which was equally yummy too :) The veggie chips is bundled up with a mint brewed tea which together cost me additional Php 75. Not bad, not bad at all :)

I'll definitely be back for more :)
