Movie-watching on a weekday!

I had one day off from work the monday after my previous weekend's trip, and so I decided to watch the highly-acclaimed Cinemalaya entry, Sana Dati.

I will write a separate post for the movie (which I loved, btw), but this post will be about my experience watching movies on a lazy afternoon on a weekday. I realized this is the first time I did this, and it's quite an interesting experience. I think it's a foregone fact that there is far less people watching as everybody else is at work or at school. The crowd was mostly comprised of senior citizens with their spouses or their barkada. Interestingly, I was the only one who watched it alone; everybody else was with somebody. It was futile exercise to choose a seat when getting the ticket as I could have sat anywhere I wanted. It was also notable that most people sat at the sides or near the aisle, I was was the only one who sat at the middle part. Of course it was relatively quiet, and a little colder too.

So would I watch again at a time like this - on a working weekday, in the afternoon?

Oh definitely! People say that one of the reasons we watch movies is to escape reality, and we don't exactly want to bring everybody with us in our escape, eh?

*Irrelevant* Just posting my pre-movie junkfood binge :

Jazz Mall

I decided to visit the Jazz Mall after mass today just to check it out. If I may admit so, I'm kinda excited for the restaurant options so near the house :)

Wine and Cheese Night!

Fully Booked :)

Been wanting to go visit this book/art installation and am only too happy to have finally seen it in the flesh :)

Lancome Make-Up Workshop

My friend F tagged me along a make-up workshop hosted by Lancome in Greenbelt 5 today, and I learned so much. I'm completely clueless about make up, and has since been resolving to change that; I guess this is the universe letting me know it's backing me up with this make up thing :)

Myers Briggs Personality Test

Based on the Myers Briggs Personality Test, I fall under the ENFP (Extravert, Intuition, Feeling, Perceiving) personality.

Here's a collage I made with officemates of the same personality on our traits and likes :)

Street Food Happiness

It's been a while since the last time I ate streetfood staple like fishball and kikiam. On top of that, I got to drink my Coke from a plastic bag again :) Only too glad got to ate and drank all these today as it brings me back to a time when life was much simpler :)

I pray...

...for strength to let go.

Because really, the only people you need in your life are the ones who need you in theirs.

CBTL Lunch

I was supposed to have lunch with relatives but as they cancelled the last minute, I decided to have lunch out alone instead :) Found myself in one of my more favorite spots these days, the neighborhood Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf :)

I ordered Eggs Ben that came with a cup of coffee because I can, hahaha :) I always fancied breakfast food, moreso these days because I'm on my "egg phase". Yep, I'm the kind of person who goes through food phases ;p

And since the cake was begging me to take a slice; I swear you could hear the chocolate goodness calling me out, I ordered a slice of Dark Cherry Truffle Cake too. Life is good!

OTJ

I've been reading great reviews about this movie, and so I decided to go finally see it this weekend with my Dad.

Wow, it deserves all the accolades it's getting. Story and script were very convincing and compelling, something you don't always see with local movies. Casting was perfect; Piolo as the brooding NBI agent, Joel Torre as the seasoned hitman, Angel  Aquino's always been a great actress, Gerald as the apprentice hitman. But for me, it was Joey Marquez who delivered and was such a revelation. He was a natural and was really into the character.

And as they say art imitates life as much as life imitates art; the movie portrayed a realistic, and depressing glimpse of the country's political and social landscape. It's quite sad how corruption is deeply integrated within our culture, and how it blurs the line of our family values.

Please watch it; these are the kind of movies we'd really like to encourage.

Yabu Love <3

I simply love bringing my daddy to my favorite restaurants, and today I brought him to Yabu <3

Happiness in a Bowl

Hay, I used to be a non-ramen lover, and now I am a convert. And it's all because of Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. The first time I tried it, it was love at first sip.

I wasn't exactly hungry but I knew I wanted to have my ramen. And so, I went to Glorietta, and had my craving taken care of with a small bowl of Shiyo Ramen.

There were a lot of people that night, and so I had to share the VIP room with several others, which was quite a different experience.

One last shot of my happiness in a bowl :)
