Cupcake Love

We had a little kid at home and I decided to bring home something for her one day.

Lemon drop remains to be my all-time, classic favorite at Sonya's, of course, but the Peanut-butter jelly and the nutella-something-banana flavors are also to die for!

Something Borrowed

A girlfriend invited me out for a movie recently, and we went to see the ultimate chick flick with a tagline that had me in mind:

It's a thin line between love and friendship.

Haha. Of course, with that tagline, I'd definitely watch it. I thought it was your typical (well, it is typical in my life.haha.) i've-always-been-in-love-with-my-bestfriend type of movie, but it was actually not. The friendship plot was actually between the 2 girl bestfriends (and no, no lesbo love there), one who's always gave way, and the one who always had her way. Yes kids, the world is unfair.

And so, the movie went on, not so much laughs, just enough not to keep me bored. And while most of the reviews I've read didn't lilke the movie, I actually did. I liked it how the characters involved weren't black and white good or bad. Just like real people. And of course, there were characters I CAN COMPLETELY RELATE TO. You are somebody's first choice. Haha. I wanted someone to say that to me.

Kate Hudson was superb, as always (but yes, I am a fan). But I think the others did pretty well too. But me calling them others is a bad sign. Haha. So yes, it was pretty much Kate Hudson and everybody else. Especially the lawyer guy. And the other guy friend, which is me in real life. HAHAHAHHAHA.

So, yes, this hasn't gone up the ranks of Meet Joe Black and 500 Days of Summer in my movie dictionary, but I liked it nonetheless.

H O P E

My friend shared an inspiring post that I'm now sharing here:

God can restore our life. Just know Him and believe. Be open to His blessings. He can more than make up for everything we've lost.

I've been through so much the past year. And with everything I went through, I really just want to shake off all the negative vibes, and move on with my life. Be happy again, happier than I've been before. More thankful than ever, for all that I have, because I've been blessed with so much.

Green Tea Ice Cream!

I crashed a friend's birthday dinner where I had the perfect treat to cap my tiring day.

Green Tea Ice Cream from Sushi-Ya

It doesn't take much to make me happy, and a simple cup of green tea ice cream shared over chismisan with great friends can easily do the job =)

CBD

I was supposed to go to Mercato last friday, but plans changed at the last minute. I didn't want to spend friday night at home, and so I called up a friend if she wanted to have dinner. As I've read a couple of reviews about CBD (Cheesesteaks, Burger & Drinks) in Ayala Triangle (where I haven't gone back to since Christmas), I suggested we try it out there.

When I read that CBD is owned by the same owners of Tender Bob's, I remembered my plateful of potato skins from Tender Bob's, and was consequently convinced that I should try it out at CBD.

I ordered their London Blue Cheeseburger, Julie just got fries as she already had pizza at the office and we both got ourselves milkshake.

London Blue Cheeseburger, Php 220

So what do we think about the food? My friend and I both liked the cheeseburger; it was juicy, very tasty and the cheese blended well with the sandwich. The fries tasted like real potatoes, which was very good, as we have had too much artificial-tasting fries around.

Milkshakes, Php 135 each; French Fries Original, Php 40

But the best part mostly, were our milkshakes! I got blueberry cheesecake, while Julie got vanilla peanut butter toffee (which has got to have the longest milkshake name i know). Mine was thick, very rich and the cheesecake bits gave it texture =)

The clocks reminded me of the office.

I say go try it, I can't see why not.

Comfort Food

McDonald's Cheeseburger meal used to be my ultimate comfort food, but as I'm really leaning towards a healthier lifestyle, I have seriously considered relinquishing the title to a more deserving choice.

Comfort food is defined by this generation's most credible source, Wikipedia, as below:

" (first used, according to Webster's Dictionary, in 1977) refers to foods consumed to achieve some level of improved emotional status, whether to relieve negative psychological affect or to increase positive feeling.[1]"

No, definitely nothing too sweet.
